Winter clothes

This ad selling winter clothes for Foley's department store is shot out in nature. Location of this is outdoors in some mountains. Man, lady and children; a boy and a girl are up in the snowy mountains. Man is all equipped to ski. Girl and boy are playing with snow throwing it at each other. Then they show the pictures if different men and women as their theme song plays "You can afford it".
Foley's , in this ad, is marketing winter clothes. They have made sking a family event trying to tell that they have winter clothes for everyone in the family. More over the text budget and the theme song are pretty straight forwardly conveying that their product is affordable.
They have used a typical family set up(mom, dad and kids) tring to say that their product is affordable for an american average family. This ad hits an average middle class American family. By showing only man eqquiped with ski stuff, it might be telling that men are into sports more than women.

This ad provides straight forward facts about the clothing such as prices of various outfits to convince people to buy the clothes. Also, I agree with you Amar, I definitely think this ad is trying to appeal to middle class average families. Since price is a factor when purchasing clothes for most people, it seems like an effective technique.
